Eurochocolate World
Perugia, 15-23 OCTOBER 2005

From 15th to 23rd October 2005 Eurochocolate welcomes everyone in Perugia, where it will be the inalienable appointment for all the Italian's greedier, and where it will take place Eurochocolate World, the special section dedicated to the Cocoa Producing Countries.

The 2005 edition of Eurochocolate has adopted a provocatory claim: Chokolate Revolution. The idea is to use the chocolate as a way to change the habits, stimulating in a positive way people's way to think the life.

In our case, Chokolate Revolution means promote the correct way to develop the cocoa's economy.

Eurochocolate always focuses on developing cultural projects that are tied to various art forms, paying special attention to defending values like solidarity, biodiversity, traceability and the sustainability of the cocoa production chain. As part of Eurochocolate World, the section devoted to cocoa-producing countries, these values now enjoy their own special space.

During 2004' edition of Eurochocolate World several projects have been introducing, with testimonies  from Cote D'Ivor, Ecuador, Sao Tomé, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela.

Next edition will be more rich and interesting, new important experiences will be present from different Countries that, in the picturesque atmosphere of the Rocca Paolina, in the historical centre of Perugia, will show significant element of their culture; they will have the opportunity to compare their skills in the Congress, they will tell about their self in the numerous spectacles.

This year, for the first time in an International Chocolate Fair, Eurochocolate will host the C8, International Summit of the Cocoa Producing Countries, 20th October 2005, supported by ICCO.

The world's first eight Cocoa-producing nations will tell us their important experience, through politics' and institutional representative, director of cocoa's association and organization that works on cocoa's promotion and trade.

Thought the C8 we want to give to opportunity to the representative of cocoa producing countries to met each other in Perugia, with the objective to develop and find new solutions for a sustainable cocoa future with no difference between North and South of the World.

21 fridays October the conference will be kept "The ethical and loyal consumer: perspectives and development of a new style of life between truth and utopy ". Fair trade and Loyal is proposed to make right the relationships with the countries less it develops promoting an easier access to the market and improving the conditions of life of the small producers: this through one fairer division of the profits and through one equal relation between producers, workers, importers, distributors and consumers. With these premises and goals, important exponents of the circuit of the loyal fair market will be confronted in the conference in order to characterize new strategies and to supply to producers in order to make them able  to enter in the conventional market of the exports.

Is confirmed the successful appointment with the Equoschool, that will give the opportunity to the little kids and Eurochocolate's public to learn more about the fair-trade chocolate.

And for the graduates of Faculty of Agrarian, Economy and Commerce and Political Sciences of the Italian University there is "Chocotesi", one Prize of Study for the theses that will have given a contribution to the progress of acquaintances in the fields of the sustainable cultivation of the cacao, the commerce fair and loyal and of the quality chocolate consumption.
